Christmas Day Dinner with the Residents
You are invited to join our residents and Executive Directors, Tom & Tamera Sherwood for a Christmas dinner (City Barbecue) provided through the generosity of Dori Morelock-Wentland. Breaking bread around tables is where family is built and strengthened.
Spaces are limited so RSVP to carolyn@resetministries.org. You will be blessed getting to know our amazing residents!
Monthly Practice: Fasting
Once a month, the Reset Community gathers to learn and practice a Spiritual Discipline—a habit modeled by Jesus. This month, we are introducing the discipline of fasting, a practice that reminds us we are not defined by our cravings. Like all spiritual disciplines, fasting creates space for God, allowing us to redirect the time normally spent preparing and eating meals toward prayer and deeper connection with Him.

Join us as we announce a vision for More. (More about this coming soon) For now, save the date on your calendar!)
Reset Community Christmas Party
Join us at Vineyard Florence Church for our annual Christmas Party! This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with our Residents and meet the many new volunteers who have joined our community over the past year. Friends from the Levi’s House community—both residents and volunteers—will be joining us as well.
We’ll also be visited by a famous mystery guest who once experienced quite the reset himself! Spaces are Limited so RSVP to carolyn@resetministries.org
Monthly Practice: Sabbath
Once a month, the Reset Community gathers to learn and practice a Spiritual Discipline—a habit modeled by Jesus. This month, we are introducing (or revisiting) the discipline of Sabbath. Learning to slow down…to pause…to rest…to stop striving…to simply be still and know that He is God—this ancient practice is deeply transformative, especially for those in recovery. We’d love for you to join us!
Lifeskills Class: Per Serving
Per Serving is a popular series in which volunteers teach residents how to cook a healthy, affordable meal. Not only does the volunteer demonstrate how to prepare such a meal, they provide a recipe, a grocery list and cost and nutrition per serving. This helps us in our goal for residents to adopt a diet rich in healthy proteins and vegetables. The hope is that by the time they graduate, they can prepare 7-10 nutritious, inexpensive meals at home and make informed, healthy choices when eating out.
K-Night, Celebrating Advent
K-Knight (Kingdom Night) is an opportunity for the greater Reset Community, volunteers, key church partners and residents to join together in worship. On December 1 we celebrate the beginning of Advent—literally “Arrival” or “Expectation.” One of the most inspiring prayers we can utter is “May Your Kingdom Come” — in my life, my relationships, in my mind!
Thanksgiving Celebration
Psalms 68:6 reads, “He places the lonely in families.” Consider being a family this Thanksgiving by joining Reset Residents as they and a few other Reset supporters give thanks! Reach out to Carolyn Reid, Reset’s Executive Administrator if you are interested: carolyn@resetministries.org.

Identity/Personality
This class on personality and identity goes beyond simply identifying our tendencies and behaviors to explore the deeper question of why we do what we do. While self-awareness begins with recognizing patterns in how we think, feel, and act, real growth comes from uncovering the underlying motivations, beliefs, and experiences that shape those patterns. By examining both surface tendencies and root causes, residents hope to gain a clearer understanding of themselves and how their identity influences their relationships, choices, and overall direction in life.
Discipleship Coach Training
We will hold Discipleship Coach Training on Monday, October 6 at 7 p.m. on the 3rd floor of Isabella (RSVP to tamera@resetministries.org). During this session, we’ll review a few key tools, introduce some newly developed concepts, and take time to share stories and challenges together. One of our measures of success as a ministry is having coaches who feel confident using the tools we provide!
Tank Transit Training
Representatives of NKY TANK transit training visit Reset to help residents and volunteers confidently navigate the bus system by providing both instruction and hands-on practice. Participants learn how to read route maps and schedules, plan trips with the TANK website or app, and understand fares, passes, and payment options.
Residents Graduation!
Join us as we celebrate the graduation of Lucas Kennedy and Erica Thomas! We have been blessed by these two and are so deeply proud of how they have grown and stepped up!
Alpha Day Retreat (12000 Pond Creek Rd., Alexandria, KY 41001)
Alpha Day Retreat:Time to Rest, Reflect, and Receive
The Alpha Weekend (or Day Retreat) is a special time for residents and guests to slow down, reflect on all they’ve been learning, and grow deeper in their relationship with God and others. It’s a chance to enjoy unhurried space for fun, connection, and meaningful conversations. During our time together, we’ll explore who the Holy Spirit is, how He works in our lives, and experience times of prayer and encouragement.
Financial Management: Piece By Piece Pt. 2, Sallie Willingham
Financial Management: Piece by Piece is a step-by-step approach to handling money with wisdom, faith, and practical habits. It begins by stabilizing the basics—securing identification, avoiding risky debt, and using safe methods for managing money. Participants then learn to track every dollar for 30 days, gaining awareness of spending patterns without shame. From there, the class focuses on building a simple monthly budget that prioritizes needs, plans ahead, and allows space for generosity. Weekly money habits are introduced to bring order and faithfulness, while small, achievable goals help build momentum and celebrate progress. Finally, the course highlights the importance of tithing and generosity, teaching that putting God first invites His blessing and multiplies resources. Woven throughout each step are Scriptures, encouragements, and reminders that money is a tool—not a master—and that financial growth is a journey of freedom and trust in God.
Alpha: Does God Heal Today?
We invite you to come walk through the basics of our faith with the residents as they continue the journey through Alpha. While it is designed for newer believers, everyone can be encouraged by the presentation and discussion that follows. Alpha will be held Mondays through September 8, concluding with an Alpha Day Retreat on Saturday, September 13 (9:30 a.m.–3 p.m., location TBD).
