Become a Discipleship Coach

A Coach Doesn’t Need All the Answers

Just a willingness to walk alongside a resident and point them to Christ. The rhythm is simple, the guides do the heavy lifting, and no one does it alone.

The Job in One Sentence

To walk alongside one resident and help them grow in the Six Essentials — being with Jesus together, asking good questions, and pointing them to God. A fellow traveler, not the expert with all the answers.

For the Hesitant

“Could I Really Do This?”

It’s not uncommon for a coach to start out unsure. Here’s the truth behind the most common worries.

“I’m not qualified.”

A discipleship coach isn’t a counselor or an expert. The role is to ask, listen, and point to Jesus — and those grow with practice.

“I don’t know the Bible well enough.”

A coach discovers alongside the resident — often both growing in their understanding of Scripture together. That shared discovery isn’t a shortfall; it’s the posture, and the opportunity.

“What if I say the wrong thing?”

A coach doesn’t fix or preach. When unsure, the best move is to ask a good question, or pause to pray and invite the Holy Spirit to give insight.

“What if I’m not enough?”

No coach is. The Holy Spirit does the transforming; a coach simply shows up as a companion.

The Commitment

Simple by Design

3× a month
A coach meets a resident, on average, three times monthly for about 90 minutes.
Ask > Advise
Good questions have the power to transform thinking — a chance at discovery before instruction.
Never alone
Staff handle most things specialized. A coach just walks alongside.
