Discipleship Coach Resources
Discipleship coaching at Reset is not about having all the answers but about creating space for residents to ask, seek, and knock as Jesus taught. Through humble questions and Spirit-led guidance, coaches help residents turn to God as the true Source—trusting Him to provide wisdom when they ask, reveal truth when they seek, and open doors of grace when they knock. In this way, a coach walks alongside others not as the answer-giver, but as a companion pointing them to Christ, who delights to be found.
Nothing beats having the right tool for the job!
How to Use These Resources
(Feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to begin? Look for the asterisks—we’ve marked the key documents to help you get started.)
Blueprints
Understanding the structure of Reset’s program is essential for serving effectively as a Discipleship Coach. Section One provides an overview of Reset and outlines the expectations for residents. Section Two unpacks the coaching mindset, posture, and guiding principles that shape how we walk alongside residents. Think of these sections as the foundation—helping you see both the big picture and the heart behind our approach.
What Winning Looks Like
Graduation from Reset isn’t just about finishing the program—it’s about growth in six essential areas: Authentic Community, Discipleship, Sobriety, Stewardship, Relationships, and Health (Mental & Physical). These provide a holistic picture of maturity. As coaches, we disciple residents in these areas, regularly assess their progress, and encourage intentional steps of growth so they leave Reset better equipped for long-term success.
Tools
Just as a contractor relies on a set of trusted tools, Discipleship Coaches will find themselves returning often to certain documents and resources. Each resident’s journey is unique, so we avoid one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, when growth opportunities emerge, we prayerfully identify and use the tool best suited for the situation—whether it’s a goal-setting guide, a check-in form, or a Bible study method. The right tool, used with wisdom and humility, can help unlock meaningful transformation.

Discipleship Coaching Simplified
An even shorter “cheat sheet” for coaching sessions
The GROW model is a coaching framework that guides conversation through four steps: Goal (define what you want), Reality (understand the current situation), Options (explore possible paths), and Way Forward (commit to specific actions).
This is a powerful skill for making effective changes by setting and completing goals.
